Etalon Filter

An etalon filter is an optical filter in which mirrors (reflective film) are deposited on both sides of high-precision polished optical glass, facing each other so that the mirrors are parallel.

Etalon filters have a characteristic of periodically varying transmittance with respect to wavelength.The thickness of the optical glass determines the Free Spectral Range (FSR), and the reflectance of the mirror determines the bottom of the transmittance.

We design and manufacture “solid etalons” with reflective film coated on both sides of a highly parallel, high-precision flat substrate.
